Our favorite restaurant in George Town. The atmosphere may not seem particularly inviting at first, but the warm-hearted people who work here and conjure up fresh, delicious roti every day make this place special. We stayed in the hotel across the street and came here every morning for breakfast and were always greeted with a smile.

Good place to have lunch or dinner in georgetown. With the haze engulfing the atmosphere at the moment, SKSK offers air conditioning dining space. The place was clean and cosy with mosaic floor tiling adorning the dining section.

The ambiance is stylish, minimalist, and filled with natural light, making it a popular spot for café-hoppers and the creative community.

The Warung is such a cool spot near Chew Jetty, love the semi-industrial, laidback vibe. Cozy, a little raw, but super welcoming! Tried their Mango Taro Waffle and it was amazing, fresh mango ice cream, creamy taro paste, crunchy granola, QQ jelly, and Melaka sauce. Every bite was a perfect mix of sweet, refreshing, chewy, and crunchy, perfect for the Penang heat!

Donna Bistro never disappoints! The food is absolutely delicious, the Nasi Lemak and Buttermilk Chicken are the best in town! And don’t miss their Char Koay Teow, packed with wok hei and full of flavour. Definitely a must-visit spot in Penang!

Convenience store

This cafe is located at the city area, among the heritage buildings. Unexpectedly the food was great.

Pinwheel offers a chic and cozy café experience with a fusion menu that blends Western dishes and local flavours—items like Carbonara Tomyam Spaghetti, Chicken Rendang Pasta, Butter Chicken Masala Pizza, and Cheesy Meat Bun are among the favourites. The ambience is stylish and Instagram-worthy, with warm lighting, mural art, mosaic-tile touches, and a relaxed feel despite being on busy Chulia Street. Service gets praise for being friendly and attentive, though during peak hours some guests do mention waits or that certain dishes miss the flavour depth they expected. Overall, Pinwheel is a strong pick for a casual hangout or meal where ambience, variety, and creative fusion food matter as much as flavour.
