Restoran Ayam Gepuk Terduduk
Ayam Gepuk Terduduk in Greentown Square, Ipoh gets solid praise for its tasty ayam penyet paired with flavorful sambal, good portion sizes, and budget-friendly pricing (around RM10 per person). Customers like that the food is consistently good, though delivery can be slow (especially during peak lunch hours).

Restoran Fuziah Nasi Ayam Pasar Bulat (Halal)
Here’s a short review of Nasi Ayam Fauziah, Ipoh: Nasi Ayam Fauziah is a go-to spot for chicken rice lovers in Ipoh: their fried chicken tends to be crispy with decent flavour, and the rice is generally tasty and fragrant. People like the value—it’s affordable and the portions are fair. There are some negatives: soy sauce is often “too salty,” the chilli sauce can be weak or diluted, and there are complaints of dryness in the chicken on certain trips. Expect queues around lunch time, as it’s popular.

Restoran Mat Rock | Ayam Goreng Kunyit | Gerbang Malam Ipoh
Here’s a short review of Mat Rock Ayam Goreng Kunyit in Ipoh: Mat Rock serves up tasty turmeric fried chicken sets with rice and sambal that many say hit just the right flavour—crispy, aromatic, and satisfying. Most customers find the portions generous and the prices reasonable for the quality. Some downsides include occasional issues like nasi (rice) served cold, or missing side items (sambal, soup) in orders. Overall, it’s a solid go-to for fans of ayam goreng kunyit who want flavour, value, and simplicity.

Beribu Bintang Cafe Sunway City Ipoh
Beribu Bintang Cafe is a cozy spot by Sunway Medical Centre that wins people over with homely comfort food like nasi goreng kampung, buttermilk chicken rice, and char kuey teow bursting with “wok hay.” The coffee and drinks are generally pleasant, and the decor gives off a relaxed café vibe. On the flip side, some reviewers say portions are a bit small and prices are on the higher side for what you get. Overall, good for satisfying cravings if you don’t mind paying a little more in exchange for atmosphere and flavour.

SUITO CAFE
Suito Cafe (Ipoh) is a great late-night café/dessert hangout known for its chill vibes—comfortable seats, welcoming staff, and dessert/drinks combos that many say hit the right balance (not overly sweet). People love its drinks like matcha or milkshakes, the burgers also get thumbs up, and even though the café can get crowded, service holds up pretty well. It’s a solid choice for after-hours lepak with friends, though the coffee might not beat specialty cafés and sweetness in some drinks may need tweaking.

Mat Cafe
Ah Mat Cafe delivers a warm, nostalgic vibe thanks to its vintage décor, old Malay movie posters, nostalgic music and a menu full of traditional Malay favourites. The standout is their “Mee Kari Kuah Laksa” (noodles in laksa broth-curry), which many find both inventive and comforting, along with classics like lempeng nyior with sambal tumis. Prices are very reasonable for Ipoh, making it a great spot for breakfast or lunch without hurting the wallet. Some visitors do mention occasional inconsistency in portion size or flavour, and service can slow when the café gets busy. Overall, it’s a charming place if you appreciate “homey” food with a local twist and historical/cultural flair.

Ayam Gepuk Bintang Lima
Ayam Gepuk Bintang Lima delivers bold Indonesian-style flavours with crispy smashed chicken served alongside sambal pedas, tempeh, tauhu and fragrant rice. While many diners praise the fiery sambal and generous sides for the price, others note the chicken can sometimes be dry or less vibrant, and service tends to slow down during busy hours. It’s a solid pick for spicy comfort food if you’re okay with a bit of inconsistency in wait time and texture.

Kaiten Sushi by JJC [Restoran Jepun Halal Ipoh]
Food - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ •This restaurant served conveyer belt sushi. •We went during peak hour so only few left were served on the belt. •We opted to order a sushi plate for 2 that served more than 5 types of sushi as you can see on the picture above and cause us roughly RM50++. •We also tried their Sapporo Miso Ramen (Spicy) - not spicy to our liking (🌶️ out 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️) Price - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ •Affordable and worth the money I would say. Ambience - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ •The atmosphere is slightly better than the usual sushi conveyer belt restaurants. Service - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ •We went on Saturday night (high traffic), so we queued outside around 10-20 minutes (chairs and welcoming drinks are provided). •Once arrived, the guests need to register name, phone no. and no. of pax to the staff at the counter (they'll call your name once your turn arrived). •The staffs are all helpful and friendly.

Restoran Mee Rebus Ramli • Taman Pengkalan Utama
Mee Rebus Ramli in Ipoh is a beloved local joint best known for its signature mee rebus—aromatic, sweet-and-slightly nutty gravy with a good mix of toppings like boiled potato, tofu, egg, bean sprouts, prawn fritters and a squeeze of lime. Customers love that the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly. The place is clean, spacious, and consistent, though a few reviewers wish the sweetness in the gravy were toned down a bit.

Restoran Mi Kari Ipoh
The breakfast spot is well-loved for its rich, aromatic curry noodles and the hearty comfort they bring—many loyal fans describe the broth as beautifully thick, flavourful, and ideal for early morning cravings. However, expect a crowd: it is very busy around opening hours (and parking gets tricky) and the simplicity of the setting means you’ll need to be ready for a no-fuss eat-out experience. All in all: a solid go-to for curry mee in Ipoh if you go early and are up for rustic comfort rather than fine dining.
