If you’re around Shibuya Crossing and craving halal food, you have to check out Gohan Cafe in the Seibu Shibuya Store Building! I ordered the chicken curry, and my friend went for a set with udon, sushi, and tempura. Honestly, every single dish was a hit—so authentic, so flavorful, and absolutely delicious! Nothing disappointed at all. Plus, they even have a prayer room inside the restaurant, which makes the experience even better. Highly recommended!

This is a classic Japanese food restaurant, as you can see by the pictures only 11 items are on the menu and only set orders are available. The set looks a lot like what you might see on TV served for office canteens or school lunches, the plate is composed of rice, miso soup, a set of cold vegetables, hot vegetables and the main dish/protean. I think it’s the perfect balance for a nice lunch in Shibuya, not too heavy so you can keep your journey in the city without wanting a nap after a big meal. The food itself was good, not exceptional but for the price and the fact that is healthy , balanced AND halal it’s a 5* by my book. My interaction with the floor staff was smooth, polite and very pleasant, the gentleman with the glasses showed me my seat, indicated that I need to order with a QR code and when I asked for the prayer room he kindly went to check if it was available. During my lunch, foreigners came in and I heard that they were 12, to which the staff replied “sorry, reservation” , although the restaurant had easily 12 places available I understand that in order to accommodate big groups and deliver the meals in a orderly manner the staff needs to be prepared in advance. I think this a cultural difference where in other countries they would gladly take big groups if it meant a big tab at the end, here they rather serve the 4-5 customers coming in and out before midday closure. All I can say is that my experience here was absolutely refreshing, from the nice meal, to the kind and professional staff and even the surprise of discovering that there is a prayer room in the restaurant- which I didn’t know before coming- If anything I think the restaurant should advertise it more, I would gladly come back here to grab a bite and pray. One suggestion: the music in the prayer room is bit loud for the purpose of the area, I understand that the speakers are set up in a specific manner and the room happen to have one just inside.

We come here everytime we are in Japan. It’s one of our favourite cafe to eat. The food portion is good. I love their tempura set! The crew are very attentive and friendly. The whole cafe is cozy and clean. For Muslims, there is a prayer room as well. We love this place!

Nice place to dine in tge busy streets of Shibuya. I had the hamburg...this very nicely cooked. Tender and flavourful. My wife bought the udon with tempura set. Not too bad. A good place to go to for a quiet meal.

We needed a break after exploring Shibuya. We choose the menu with chicken and omelette and miso soup. It was so tasty and I really enjoyed the chicken with egg omelette.
